Therese & Hans Herzog founded Herzog Estate in 1994 having left their winery in Switzerland to produce Bordeaux-style wines and varieties not possible to grow in the cooler Swiss climate. They found the perfect land for their 11.5ha vineyard in Marlborough.
Hans is an innovative winegrower who likes to experiment with many different varieties (currently 26!) Both he & Therese are committed to a non-interventional philosophy & organic & biodynamic practices, ensuring the health of the soil and vines now & for the future.
