Fourth generation farmer,horticulturalist and politician Denis Marshall and his partner German-born wine lover Ulrike Kurenbach focus on producing fine quality, premium pinot noir, pinot gris, riesling at their Hawkshead vineyard in Central Otago. They chose Hawkshead, the name of ancestor and noted naturalist William Swainson's first house built in NZ in 1841 to link their endeavours close to nature and their organic pinot noir production.
