Kennedy Point

Kennedy Point Vineyard was established in 1996 by Neal Kunimura and Susan McCarthy with Bordeaux varietals and Syrah. From the beginning, the philosophy of the family owned vineyard has been to focus on producing the very best wines from the site matched with thorough attention in the vineyard and wine production. This approach was rewarded in 2009 when the Syrah 2007 won Gold & Trophy at the IWC.

Member of Swedish Wine Writers Association has this to say about the Kennedy Point 2006 Syrah

After having consumed one bottle of yours 2006 Reserve Syrah together with wine friends I think it was one of the best Syrah wines I ever had. The wine was brought to Sweden after a friends visit to your vineyard four years ago.

Kennedy Point Vineyard Rose of Syrah has been bottled!

The Kennedy Point Rose is famous. Yes, that’s right. It’s famously delicious. This season our Rose is made from our beautiful Syrah from our home KP vineyard. It has hints of honeysuckle and jasmine and is nice and dry… Ah, can’t wait. Added bonus: It has a screw cap, easy for summer bbq’s at the beach.

End of Harvest

The bunches have been clipped, the bins have been filled, the grapes have been crushed – 2014 harvest is complete and it is a fabulous vintage! On Waiheke, we had great fruit set early in the season and with long, hot days it made for good ripening and lovely flavourful fruit. This Kennedy Point vintage is from 3 of our 5 Waiheke vineyards.…

Foot Stomping our Rosé

Want to know why the Kennedy Point Rosé is so delicious?  We foot stomp the grapes in the traditional method of wine making. We generally use our wine press to crush grapes but to make the Kennedy Point Vineyard Rosé the grapes are crushed by foot just after picking to release their juices and begin fermentation.…
