Bain Road Wines vineyards were first established in 1986 the family’s original vineyard on Bain Road Waipara in the middle of their family farm. It still produces premium chardonnay and Pinot Noir Grapes.
Bain Road Wines is an 18-hectare vineyard comprising of Pinot Gris, Riesling and some of the oldest Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon vines in New Zealand.
In 1985 the Cabernet Sauvignon vines were planted followed in 1986 by the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Our Waipara Downs block is well known for producing low yielding high quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from our free draining limestone rich soil.
