Dr Vaughn Bell (NZ Institute of Plant and Food Research) will share the findings of the second season of monitoring mealybug in Central Otago and provide recommendations for managing the risks associated with leafroll virus in your vineyard.
Nick Hoskins (Vine Managers) will illustrate the risk of leafroll virus and mealybug interaction using case studies from Hawkes Bay. Nick will also offer practical insights and advice for managing a virus elimination program on your vineyard.
For the second part of the workshop, we will travel to a local vineyard, where Vaughn and Nick will discuss the best approach for removing and replacing vines previously infected with leafroll virus.
