Women in Wine helps women reach their full potential, step up into leadership roles and encourages businesses within the industry to assess their diversity and inclusion culture.
The programme was originally founded in 2017 after no women put themselves forward for the NZ Winegrower's Board Elections. The New Zealand wine industry supports and encourages diversity, and there are many women working in the industry in all roles and at all levels - and we realised this needed attention.
Women in Wine is for everyone – regardless of gender or role within the industry. All members are invited to participate, join the conversation and build networks.
Networking provides opportunities to create valuable relationships, share successes and ideas. Regional Women in Wine groups have been formed around the country enabling members to meet regularly and a national networking event is organised annually. The bespoke Women in Wine mentoring programme is also highlighting the benefits and importance of connecting people together.
Women in Wine provides information and resources to help women upskill and reach their goals, by running educational workshops such as negotiation skills.
Diversity workshops and industry surveys encourage businesses to offer more opportunities for women to progress and step up into leadership roles as they wish
