One of Marlborough’s original vineyards, Lawson’s Dry Hills was established in 1991 by Ross and Barbara Lawson after being told ‘They were mad” to plant grapes on a small block of low-lying, flood prone land in 1981.
That first vintage brought about a harvest of 15 tonnes of Gewurztraminer which was managed in an old tin shed.
