Horst’s wine-making is based on creating hand-crafted wines, highlighting regional characteristics and expressing varietal styles. Tasting is available from the cellar door.
The winery restaurant is open for brunch and lunch. Everything is made on the premises, with much being available in the wine cellar shop. Summer dining can be enjoyed in the secluded courtyard, winter in front of the open fire. It is a lovely way to conclude a leisurely walk around the tracks and historical ruins of the Karangahake Gorge. There is also a self-contained apartment available in what was once a hayloft.
