Women in Wine NZ

Women in Wine NZ helps women reach their full potential, step up into leadership roles and encourages businesses within the industry to assess their diversity and inclusion culture.

CONNECT. INFORM. CHANGE

The programme was originally founded in 2017 after no women put themselves forward for the NZ Winegrower's Board Elections. The New Zealand wine industry supports and encourages diversity, and there are many women working in the industry in all roles and at all levels - and we realised this needed attention.

Women in Wine is for everyone – regardless of gender or role within the industry. All members are invited to participate, join the conversation and build networks.

CONNECT

Networking provides opportunities to create valuable relationships, share successes and ideas. A supportive community generates confidence and leads to success for both individuals and the industry as a whole. Regional Women in Wine groups have been formed around the country enabling members to meet regularly and national networking is also supported through virtual and in person events.

INFORM

Women in Wine gathers statistics to identify any challenges which may exist for women working in our industry.  This information is shared and used to set goals for change and to measure progress.  WiW also provides information and resources to help women upskill and reach their goals through educational workshops.

CHANGE

By creating awareness, challenging thinking and processes and keeping the diversity and equality conversation front of mind, Women in Wine encourages organisations to make changes where necessary to enable women to thrive and step up into leadership roles.

The bespoke Women in Wine Mentoring Programme reflects all three of these.
