Bragato Undergraduate Award

The Award

The Bragato Undergraduate Award may be awarded annually by the Board of Trustees at their sole discretion. More than one award per annum may be made.The award may be granted to any New Zealand student who is undertaking a full time degree course in either viticulture or wine sciences at a recognised academic institution.The Award will be such amount as the Trustees agree up to a maximum of NZ$3,500 toward the cost of manuals, books, course fees, and course materials. The award will be for one year only, but recipients may re-apply in subsequent years.

Applicants may also apply for other grants.

Applications for this Fellowship close on the 31 March each year.

STATEMENT BY APPLICANT

The following declaration is included in the application form: I declare that all the information in this application is correct. I agree to accept the decision of the Selection Panel, and The Bragato Trust Board of Trustees, as final and binding.

Eligibility

The applicant must have successfully completed at least one year of study, and gained pass marks in all subjects. The applicant must also be enrolled for a full time course of study for the academic year for which the application is made.

Students applying must be under 27 years of age as at the date of application and be a NewZealand resident.

Selection Criteria and Selection Panel

As well as meeting the academic requirements the applicants will be selected based on, passion for the wine industry, personal appearance and presentation, general knowledge, and must be of good character.

Successful awardees will be required to furnish a written report at the end of the study award year.

Applications will be studied and the awardees chosen by a selection panel appointed by theBoard of Trustees. Interviews with applicants may be called for at the sole discretion of the Selection Panel.

The decision of the Selection Panel will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Privacy

The personal information provided by any applicant for this award will be used only for the administration of the award and for publishing the successful applicant’s name and photo. Personal details will not be released to any other party without the applicant’s permission having been given.

Applicants must attach:

  1. Study course academic results to date.
  2. Letter fully outlining why they believe they are a suitable applicant
  3. CV, photo, supporting references and names of at least 2 referees.
  4. Proof of enrolment for the study course for the year of application.
  5. Budget showing income and costs for the year.
