We are delighted to launch the 2026 programme - open to all our members.
The programme aims to support those working in the New Zealand wine industry focus on their self-development, find direction and progress their careers.
Applications for the 2026 programme are now OPEN.
Closing date is Sunday 6 September 2026. Please head to the relevant Mentor or Mentee pod below to download the forms.
This programme is open to members working in all roles within our industry including viticulture, winemaking, sales & marketing, cellar door, cellarhand, general management, operations, logistics, laboratory and administration.
This is a fantastic opportunity to stretch yourself, plan your next steps and widen your network either as a mentee or mentor. Previous mentors and mentees have found these programmes extremely beneficial and enjoyable.
"The experience was not only worthwhile but genuinely enriching."
Previous MENTOR
"My mentor taught me the right time is today and not tomorrow to start working towards my goals."
Previous MENTEE
The programme aims to match one mentee with an experienced mentor from the wine industry preferably within their region. This is subject to the number of applications received and suitable matches available. In regions where there are multiple applicants we hope to match additional pairs, creating the opportunity for more mentor-mentee matches to be made around the country.
The programme includes an induction workshop for both mentors and mentees, facilitated by Fiona Fenwick. These workshops run separately.
The compulsory Mentors Workshop will take place early October. Once the matching process has completed it will be decided where this will be.
The Mentees Workshop will be online the same week.
To apply to be a mentee for this programme the organisation you work for needs to be a New Zealand Winegrowers member organisation. Those in between jobs in the wine industry are also welcome to apply.
Applications CLOSE on Sunday 6 September 2026.
Please note the mentors generously offer their time on a completely voluntary basis and receive no fee for this programme.
