Following the success of our previous NZW mentoring programme, we are delighted to launch the 2021 programme which is open to all our members regardless of gender.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

The programme aims to support members increase their confidence, focus on their self-development and further their careers.

It is open to members working in all roles within our industry including viticulture, winemaking, sales & marketing, cellar door, cellarhand, general management, operations, logistics, laboratory and administration.

This is a fantastic opportunity to stretch yourself, plan your next steps and widen your network.  Previous mentors and mentees have found these programmes extremely beneficial and enjoyable.

“I always get benefit out of Mentoring for my own personal development and also the satisfaction of seeing someone develop throughout the sessions and understand their potential.”

Lesley Boon, MENTOR

“I have definitely gained more confidence in my ability as well as now knowing that you cannot please everyone and confronting conflict isn’t always a bad thing.”

Ben Richards, MENTEE

The programme aims to match one mentee with an experienced mentor from the wine industry preferably within their region.  This is subject to the number of applications received and suitable matches available.  In regions where there are multiple applicants we hope to match additional pairs, creating the opportunity for more mentor-mentee matches to be made around the country.

Thanks to the generosity of AnA Selection Cooperage, The Marlborough Lab Network, Klima, and New World,  there are now new scholarships available for this programme.  This now enables us to offer up to a maximum of 14 matches.

The programme includes an induction workshop for both mentors and mentees, facilitated by Fiona Fenwick.  These workshops run separately and the Mentors Workshop will take place on Monday 22nd November and the Mentees Workshop on Tuesday 23rd November.

The Women in Wine NZ programme will continue to run as a separate programme.

To apply for this programme the organisation you work for needs to be a member of New Zealand Winegrowers. If you need a login to go through to the Members section please email pearl.jolly@nzwine.com.
