Pinot Noir New Zealand 2025

Pinot Noir New Zealand 2025 provides an opportunity to connect. Bringing together winemakers from across New Zealand's diverse regions, high-impact attendees from all around the world, and world-class speakers. Delving into unique stories, we discuss what makes New Zealand Pinot Noir so distinctive and how this is shaped by our connection to our land, our heritage, and aspirations for the future.

In Aotearoa New Zealand, Pinot Noir is liquid affirmation of a close relationship between people and their land.

We treasure this relationship and call it kaitiaki. You can taste the care, respect, and the love in every glass.

After eight years, Pinot Noir New Zealand 2025 successfully returned to connect global wine enthusiasts, thought leaders, and industry pioneers in an impactful celebration of New Zealand Pinot Noir held in Ōtautahi Christchurch.  As part of the NZW Major Events Strategy, the Pinot Noir New Zealand conference acts as a valuable hook for international media and trade guests to come at one time, which amplifies the premium New Zealand wine message. Not only to tell a Pinot Noir story, but a story of the diversity of our varietals and contrasting regions.

The 79 participating wineries represented all member categories, and a range of regions including Wairarapa, Gisborne, Marlborough, Nelson, North Canterbury, Central Otago, and Waitaki Valley each presented their unique expressions of Pinot Noir. Wineries were able to showcase their Pinot Noir as well as other varietals in the wider culinary programme.

Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it the best wine conference they have attended. Feedback noted the event's exceptional programme, quality of speakers, culinary experiences, and rich diversity of Pinot Noir showcased. The themes of place, care, and the time to come resonated deeply with attendees, creating a meaningful experience that celebrated both the tradition and future of this iconic grape variety.

Continuity is a key focus, with plans to keep social media active and engage with the database of attendees. A ’slow drip’ content release will ensure ongoing exposure for the event, sponsors, and participating wineries between events. Our industry can now build on the momentum generated by PNNZ25 and leverage the global impact from attendees and key connections made to support growth and global recognition.

*Whanaungatanga (noun): relationship, kinship, sense of family connection - a relationship through shared experiences and working together which provides people with a sense of belonging.
