Johanneshof Cellars

Johanneshof Cellars

Johanneshof Cellars is a small Boutique Winery established in 1991 by German born, fifth generation winemaker Edel Everling and New Zealander Warwick Foley. Both trained at Geisenheim University in Edel’s native region of Rheingau. All wines are produced on site, from hand harvested Marlborough fruit. Well known wine critic Michael Cooper writes "Johanneshof has a history of scooping top awards for it’s aromatic white wines”. As well as the wines listed Johanneshof produces botrytised dessert wines, a traditional Grape Brandy and Grappa. Johanneshof Cellars boasts New Zealand’s first Underground Rock Cellar tunneled 50 metres into a sandstone hillside.
Johanneshof Cellars offers one of Marlborough's oldest and most unique wine experiences. You are welcome to taste a selection of our many wines, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir red & rose and Dessert wine. Relax in the shade of our 40 year old trees adjacent to our Pinot Noir vineyard, called "Maybern". More often than not you will have the chance to be welcomed by one of our two winemakers, who founded their dream winery 30 years ago. We look forward to offering you our internationally awarded wines, that are one of the most awarded in the country.
