Maori Point Vineyard

Maori Point Vineyard

Central Otago
Maori Point is a bend on the Clutha river where Maori goldminers panned for gold in the 1860's. Before that it was a summer camp on the greenstone trail from Otakau on the East Coast to Haast on the West Coast. Glacial dust and gravel mulched with fragrant herbs and flowers give balanced nutrients to the vines and produce intensely flavoured wines. Each vine has a history, hand-tended to produce fine grapes.
Visit
Ringed by snow-capped mountains and carved by recent glaciers, our vineyard rises from the banks of the Clutha River. The new cellar door joins the barrel room where visitors can taste and see the wines being made. Maori Point has spectacular views, with a riverside walking path and picnic areas.
