The Donaldson family have been seriously involved in wine since the early 1970’s and were pioneers of local grape growing and wine making.
Our aim is to grow grapes of the highest quality, which fully express the features of the vineyard, and to handle these with the utmost respect.
Pegasus Bay Winery & Restaurant is owned and operated by the Donaldson family who were pioneers of the North Canterbury wine industry. The Restaurant & Cellar door is set in a truly majestic garden with a variety of walks including a wetlands area with several lakes. They have been awarded NZ’s best winery restaurant 8 of the past 10 years in the Cuisine Magazine Good Food awards and hold 2 prestigious chefs Hats.
