The Aspiring range is made by the award-winning team at Domaine Thomson. John Turnbull Thomson (known as "Surveyor Thomson" and was the great-great-grandfather of the late David Hall-Jones who planted the vineyard in 2000) explored and named many features in the lower South Island, including Mt Aspiring in 1857.
