Esk Valley Estate

Esk Valley Estate

Hawkes Bay
Esk Valley's history can be traced back to 1933 when Englishman Robert Bird first planted vines in Bay View in the north of Hawkes Bay and established Glenvale Winery. It was from these historic cellars that Esk Valley emerged in 1988 and quickly become one of the great and pioneering names of New Zealand wine, with classic white wines, Merlot-based reds and 'The Terraces', a single vineyard wine from a steep north-facing hillside site. In 2018, a new era began when production shifted to a new winery in Gimblett Gravels, adding some technological advancements to our inherent artisanal approach.
