Founded in 1864 by Frenchman Jean Désiré Féraud, Monte Christo Winery is the birthplace of Central Otago wine. From the pioneering vision of J.D. Féraud to today’s Paris family stewardship, we carry forward the legacy of this historic site while producing elegant, site-driven wines that reflect the character of our land.
Our restored 19th-century winery is now home to a welcoming Cellar Door offering guided tastings, with the option to book private experiences in the Underground Cellar or join an educational Winery Tour for an in-depth look at wine production and our sustainable practices.
Guests can enjoy seasonal dishes from Fritzy, our on-site food trailer, or extend their visit in one of our luxury Guest Cottages, all within a short walk of the Cellar Door.
Located just outside Clyde and steps from the Otago Central Rail Trail, Monte Christo brings together heritage, sustainability, and warm hospitality.
Open 7 days a week: 10am–6pm in summer, 11am–5pm in winter.
