Monte Christo Winery’s Gibbston Cellar Door is located along the Gibbston wine trail, housed in the preserved stone stables of the 1860s Gibbston Hotel. This relaxed, welcoming space offers visitors a chance to explore the Monte Christo portfolio through walk-in tastings, wines by the glass or bottle, and build-your-own gourmet platters. Easily accessed from the Gibbston River Trail, the cellar door provides a natural stop for cyclists and travellers exploring the Valley of the Vines. As a gateway to our historic Clyde estate — the birthplace of Central Otago wine — this location offers an approachable introduction to our site-driven wines and winemaking philosophy. Open 7 days a week, from 10am–6pm in summer and 11am–5pm in winter.
