The primary sector is already on a path to transformation. The roadmap brings together opportunities to address concerns arising as a consequence of COVID-19, as well as issues that needed tackling prior to COVID-19, and offers transformational opportunities to accelerate a lift in the contribution of the primary sector. New Zealanders have a renewed sense of support and trust in the primary sector, and the important role it will play in maintaining our economic wellbeing. A renewed sense of connection with our primary sector will help us respond collectively as a nation.
New Zealand’s food and fibre sector presents many powerful possibilities, and together, we can move towards a more productive, sustainable and inclusive economy.
