Whitehaven is restoring biodiversity at meaningful scale. To ensure the survival of native seedlings, we eco-source native seeds locally, helping protect the unique ecology of The Springs and increasing plant survival. In partnership with The Selmes Garden Trust — a Community Trust supporting employment for people with disabilities — we propagate and plant 20,000 natives annually, with the first 10,000 planted in 2024. We’re dedicating 600ha to restoration and actively rebalancing vineyard ecosystems through livestock grazing, interrow planting (already 60% coverage), and mechanical undervine weed removal to reduce herbicide use.
